WHO WE ARE

The Creative Process Workshops

Do you feel truly in charge of your life? Are you able to create what you want? Or does life feel too much like an endless stream of meeting obligations and responsibilities, including even ones that you chose? Put another way, does it seem to you that life should be more enjoyable, and less stressful, than it is? If so, does it seem possible to do anything about this predicament?

The Creative Process Workshops offered by Peter Bergson, co-founder of the Natural Creativity Center and Open Connections, Inc., are designed to address just such issues, whether they arise with regard to:

- Being a joyful and successful parent                   -Earning a living in a satisfying way

- Following your interests and passions                - Addressing the “shoulds” and “musts” in any life

In short, while there are never any guarantees in life, there is much we all can do to increase our probability of success in creating the life we want. Starting with identifying the barriers to our success, we can learn to master a specific, conscious process for creating new options in any aspect of life. After all, homo sapien means the animal that learns. We are all natural learners, despite how others may have treated us even in the distant past. If you are feeling stuck, perhaps it is time to re-awaken to the fact of your innate abilities and resume the process that we all exhibited so fantastically as toddlers.

Each workshop builds on its predecessors and yet is a stand-alone, so you can learn something of value each time you participate. The cumulative effect suggests starting at the beginning and continuing for as long as you find value; however, you are welcome to jump in whenever you can.

You will gain new insights and skills with regard to:

  • How to turn problems into opportunities
  • How to identifying the root causes of problems (or as we call them, Challenges)
  • How to clarify what is yours to deal with and what is not (because it is someone else’s “Clientship”)
  • How to support the natural creativity and creative problem solving in others, especially youths, partners  and co-workers—and how easily our culture (especially compulsory schooling) does just the opposite
  • How to generate novel ideas and then make them feasible, especially when you think there is no solution
  • How to respond to ideas from others in a constructive way without sacrificing your needs
  • How to help young people develop collaborative behaviors rather than annoying ones
  • How to turn arguments into satisfying creative encounters
  • How to keep from feeling walked over by bosses and loved ones.
